A statewide Job Guarantee pilot program in New Jersey could create living-wage jobs in areas like childcare, elder care, food access, infrastructure, environmental cleanup, and other essential community services.

The long-term goal would be to show the nation that a Job Guarantee is possible and build support for a permanent nationwide Federal Job Guarantee that expands job security, upward mobility, and meaningful work opportunities for all Americans.

Under a Job Guarantee program, state and local governments would work with residents to better understand community needs—and residents would have a real say in what jobs get created.

Instead of relying only on corporations and wealthy investors to create jobs, a Job Guarantee would create a public pathway for everyday people to help define what work is needed and provide funding to turn those community needs into real living-wage jobs. Not just jobs that pay the bills, but work that gives people purpose, stability, dignity, and the opportunity to grow.
